My friend Luis’ father died when he was 10 years old. He was a smart and wealthy businessman … but he left no will or plan for his estate. Within a year, the family was completely broke and in dire straits. I have often thought about this situation and what could have been done to help the family thrive and do great things with the wealth that was lost. I now encourage people to be proactive in their estate planning to make sure they take care of their family and to give generously with their estate instead of giving it to the government. This kind of forward thinking allows people to leave the kind of legacy that truly honors the way they lived and want to be remembered.
Today, you have an opportunity to take control of your future and plan your legacy. I want to encourage you to do that through the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation’s Forever Partners program. Together, we can make sure you leave a legacy for your family that helps them thrive, honors your memory, and helps Cabell Huntington Hospital serve people, families and children in Central Appalachia get the specialized care they need without having to travel hours to a big city. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
