October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Mountain Health Network has many activities scheduled as well as local businesses throughout the month honoring those affected by breast cancer. Whether it was you personally, a friend, family member or being as a supporter, where your pink to bring awareness!

Monday, September 30, 2019- Paint the Town Pink- 7:30pm- Pullman Square
Huntington will flip the switch to “Paint the Town Pink” by turning Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, the WV Building as well as several other businesses pink in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There will be light refreshments served at Huntington’s Kitchen. Bring the family to kick off this month of awareness!
Tuesday, October 1, 2019- Breast Cancer Survivors Dinner- 5:30pm- New Baptist Church
Breast Cancer survivors that received treatment at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center (ECCC) are invited to attend an evening of celebration at New Baptist Church in Huntington, WV for a dinner at 5:30pm. Pre-registration is required and please contact the ECCC to make your reservation.
Tuesday, October 8, 2019- Ladies in Pink Luncheon- 12pm- Guyan Golf and Country Club
This annual luncheon serves as a fundraiser for the St. Mary’s Pink Ribbon Fund, which provides breast health services to uninsured and underinsured women. Brenda Hawthorne, MS, RDN, LD, and Alex Beelen, PT, DPT, will present “Nutrition and Exercise: Important Weapons in the Fight Against Cancer.” Robin Whaley, breast cancer survivor, will also speak. Tickets are $35. Reservations can be made by calling 304.526.1349. Shopping will begin at 11am in the parlor and the lunch will start at 12pm.
Wednesday, October 3, 2019- Marshall Hall of Fame Café- Pink Out
Take your friends, family and everyone you know for a great meal at the Marshall Hall of Fame Café! On Wednesday, October 3rd, 10% of all sales will benefit the St. Mary’s Medical Center Pink Ribbon Fund, providing breast health services to those that either do not have insurance or are underinsured.
Friday, October 18, 2019- CHH Breast Cancer and GYN Screening- 9am-2pm- ECCC
A one day walk in clinic will be hosted for those wanting a free clinical breast and gynecologic examination at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center. For more information please contact (304) 526-2440.
Sunday, October 20, 2019- Breast Cancer Survivor Reunion- 2-4pm- St. Mary’s Center for Education
There will be a free event for survivors and their families to attend as celebration for beating cancer at the St. Mary’s Center for Education and Conference Center. The event will have light refreshments and will be from 2-4pm.
Monday, October 21, 2019- Sisters of HOPE Breast Cancer Support Group- 5:30pm- ECCC
If you or a loved one has been affected by breast cancer you are invited to attend this free support group open to current breast cancer patients, breast cancer survivors and loved ones. No RSVP is required and light refreshments will be served.
